Hi, I’m Arantza.
Arantza Echauz, LMSW - Children, Families, Adolescents and Adults
I believe therapy should be a place where you don’t have to carry everything by yourself. I work with kids, teens, and young adults who feel things big — the ones who are more sensitive, get overwhelmed quickly, or need a little extra support to feel steady — along with families navigating anxiety, life transitions, or difficult experiences. My goal is for every client to leave sessions feeling a little lighter, more connected to themselves, and equipped with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. Above all, I hope to help the kids and families I work with cultivate a sense of safety within themselves — a place they can return to long after our sessions together.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families from diverse backgrounds, and I have a particular soft spot for sensitive kids and teens with big emotions and higher emotional needs. I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and authenticity, recognizing that every person’s story is unique — often meeting younger clients through play, so they can build skills without feeling lectured or fixed. Together, we’ll explore your strengths, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build skills that support meaningful and lasting growth. I believe healing happens through a collaborative relationship where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.
My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for Children (DBT-C), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and strengths-based, trauma-informed care. I value cultural humility and believe that understanding each person’s identity, relationships, and environment is essential to providing meaningful support. As a bilingual therapist, I’m honored to offer sessions in both English and Spanish.
My previous experience has allowed me to support individuals across a variety of settings. I’ve spent several years working alongside neurodivergent children and young adults, supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other neurodevelopmental differences. I’ve also provided case management, crisis support, and resource navigation through my work with immigrant and Latino communities, helping families navigate complex circumstances with dignity and compassion. These experiences continue to shape my practice by reminding me that every person deserves to be understood through their strengths — not defined by their challenges.
I believe every person deserves a space where they feel safe enough to be vulnerable, celebrated for who they are, and empowered to move toward the life they want to create. Whether we’re working through big emotions, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, or building coping skills, I’m honored to walk alongside you in your journey toward healing and growth.

Children, Adolescents, Adults, and Families
Guiding people through strong, confusing, or overwhelming emotions is where I feel most at home. Nothing you bring in is “too much”. I can sit with it and help you make sense of it.

Great question — my first priority is always to assess what you need and tailor our work to that. But there are some specialties that I have (it’s ok if these look like a bunch of letters, we can get into it!):
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): Helps with big emotions, relationship struggles, and impulsive behaviors by teaching real-world skills for calming, communicating, and coping.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): Focuses on noticing unhelpful thought patterns and shifting them so you can feel and act differently in everyday life.
Play Therapy: Uses play — a kid’s natural language — to help younger children process feelings, build coping skills, and work through hard experiences without needing to sit and talk it out.
IFS (Internal Family Systems): Helps you get to know the different “parts” of yourself — like the part that worries, or the part that protects you — so you can build more self-compassion and inner balance.
I’m also able to offer sessions in Spanish, for families who’d prefer that.
