Liz Davy, MA - Children, Adolescents and Adults

Hi, I’m Liz.

You might be feeling overwhelmed by intense emotions, anxiety, behavioral challenges, life transitions, or patterns that feel difficult to break. Maybe your mind gets stuck in cycles of overthinking, intrusive thoughts, rumination, compulsions, reassurance-seeking, or perfectionism. Perhaps your child or teen is struggling with emotional outbursts, shutdown, social anxiety, school stress, self-esteem, or difficulty coping with big feelings. These struggles often show up not just in our thoughts and behaviors, but in our bodies and nervous systems — and therapy can help create greater understanding, emotional balance, and practical tools for navigating them.

I work with adolescents, young adults, children, and parents using evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), somatic therapy, and relational work. Drawing on polyvagal theory, I help clients understand how the nervous system shapes emotional experience — why we fight, flee, freeze, or shut down — and how to build a greater sense of safety and regulation from the inside out. I support clients struggling with anxiety, executive function, OCD, emotion dysregulation, trauma, attachment wounds, and life stressors by helping them build coping skills, improve emotional and body awareness, tolerate distress, strengthen relationships, and respond to difficult thoughts and feelings with greater flexibility and self-trust.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in both practical skill-building and deeper emotional work. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported — in both mind and body — while also learning tools they can actually use outside of session. Whether that means learning to recognize the early signs of nervous system activation, working through trauma that lives in the body, or building the capacity to stay present when things feel hard, we work at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we can work toward reducing anxiety and compulsive patterns, building resilience, improving communication, and helping you or your child feel more connected, confident, and grounded in daily life. I look forward to hearing from you.
